Break-in for 2210

Took delivery of my new 2210 last night. We had some showers come through NC late yesterday, but I still had to take it out for a couple minutes. I have some projects that I would like to start on today. Is there any sugjestions on the best way to break it in (engine or drivetrain)? I have a little mowing to do, some brush hogging, and about a days worth of dragging a box blade around.

PS..when the tractor arrived with the FEL on, the FEL was pretty beat up. I can tell that it is where they had it banded in shipping the FEL to the dealer prior to the dealer installing it. I guess that I will end up scrathing it, but that is me. Has this happened to any of you?

Varied RPM's is the secret if there is one to it. Run it at full throttle a little but not as much as your lower RPM's. As you put more time i=on it increase the load you are using it at. We seat are bigger farm tractors in ion about four hours. starting with partial throttle 30 minutes then to a little load, then to full throttle no load then partial load then full load moving up in about thirty minute intervals at each step. After we do that we tell pweople to go use them the way they intend to for the life off the tractor. ....

Tell the dealer, he will probably offer to repaint or offer some touch up paint for you. ....

Once you get it all painted up a pretty, take a picture of it because that is as good as it is ever going to look.
Once you start using it you will be amazed at how much of that paint just disappears, especially on the FEL.
I didn't have my new 4115 home for even an hour before I put a ding in the hood. But it is my third tractor and I knew it was coming sooner or later. ....

I too had some scuffs and deep scratches on my loader from the banding when I took ownership. I guess it's just something to expect, although I certainly wouldn't accept the same thing on a new vehicle. There was actually even a dealer pre-delivery checklist in one of my manuals (that hadn't been filled out). "Touched-up" scratches was one of the items that hadn't been checked off. Anyhow, I got my dealer to give me some free touch-up paint and I took care of it myself. Mark's right though - it hasn't looked the same since then and never will!! A few rocks in the bucket make short work of that pretty green paint. ....

My fel was a little scrapped up too. I did just ask for a can of spray paint to touch it up. If I remember right they are made in holland and shipped here, either way they travel on pallets and trucks. No biggie. After you do a single project you will see why no one worries too much about this. Mine has 50 hours and I just repainted the bucket because it was 60% bare metal. Dave ....

After putting a few hours on it change all the fluids and i me all the fluids. engine, coolant, trans, hydro system. The go out and beat the S_t_ out of it, so if something that is a manufacture defeat will breaks while its still be under warrenty. When i bought my used JD 955 it came with a warrenty from the dealer, free labor on any repair with in 1 year. They had completly when through it so anything that would fail was replaced. I had it for 5 hours when the front ball joint broke. It was $15 for parts and about 1 hour of labor for free at $65 an hour ....
